As a professional bank robber, you got away with 15 million, but your have been betrayed. Somebody tipped the cops and you have to run for your life. Get to the end of each level intact, and try to collect powerups on your way.
A tip i could give you is to just hold the shoot button to keep your weapon auto firing. And always be on the lookout for firepower and repair powerups, they are crucial to surviving the police. Have fun!
